Urgy and Herm just saw their friend, Piter, back from his first quest to become king.
"Hey, Piter. Your neckalace opened up," Urgy said, gesturing to Piter's amulet.
Piter lifted the golden peice at the end, now showing a small purple peice, "Ya it did. My father said it would open a little bit more after each quest. And everytime it does I'll grow stronger."
Herm was intrigued, he reached a hand out to touch it, but he couldn't. It was like the amulet and his hand were magnets, pushing away from eachother. He shrugged it off.
Urgy was uninterested, "What do you think it will be like, being king?" he asked Piter.
Piter thought about it, "I'm not sure. I'll be spoiled and have great power but I think it will be hard. 'King Piter' . . . it doesn't sound right."
Herm chuckeled loudly, "At least your name isn't 'The Hermit.'"
Herm was given that name by people, not his parents. When he was younger, he had to fend for himself, it was a horrible childhood. He didn't have a name and didn't talk to anyone. So people started calling him Hermit and The Hermit.
"Or . . . Balthazar," Urgy said grimly, "I'm never going to be called that, not in five hundred years."
"Five hundred years . . . the fates said that's how long I'll rule," Piter said.
"How are you going to live for that long?" Herm asked.
"Magic," Piter said smugly.
Then three girls came by. Piter's heart nearly stopped at the sight of one of them. His friend Bea saw his face, "Hi, Piter," she giggled, "This is my friend Hestia, Hestia, this my friend Piter."
Hestia was tall with dark blonde hair, she seemed athletic. She smiled, "Nice to meet you," she shook Piter's hand.
Piter almost fainted at her clear voice and ruby lips, "You too," was all he could say.
"'Sup?" Urgy said shaking her hand sternly. She giggled.
Herm was trying hard not to burst out laughing at Piter. He shook hands with her but said nothing.
Posey, Piter's sister, smiled and said, "So . . . who wants to go swimming?"
They all sighed in unison, "Not again!" Hestia laughed.
Posey made a pout face, "Well fine, I'll go swimming by myself."
"Have fun," Piter called to her as she walked away.
She made a branch above Piter fall and hit his head, everyone laughed.
"Ya that was funny," Piter sarcastically said.
Pluto and his friend Argus walked toward them.
"What's funny?" Argus asked.
No one liked Pluto or Argus. They seemed . . .different. They gave off a dark atmosphere.
"Uhh . . . nothing. Just Posey being weird," Bea said.
"I wonder what will be like when we're adults, will we still all be friends?" Pluto asked.
"Hey, I'm already an adult . . . almost," Argus said.
Argus was older than all of them put together. He thought it would be interesting to get close to the future kings and queens. He wanted their eyes, so he could rule. They would be his puppets.
Pluto shivered, "I hate the cold."
