Our local weather does seem to get stranger and stranger every year. I can't believe all of the pollution in the world is not having an impact on the overall climate. That said, changes to the earths climate do not happen overnight. :?: The earth has gone through many cycles over the years caused by a variety of issues. Whose to say our carbon emissions might not be causing the next shift?

Have any of you read Chris D'lacey's books? They have dragons, squirrels, art, writing, polar research, magic, etc. Aoquesth I do not see them listed in audio format, sorry! I know how much you love audio books!
Book 1 - The Fire Within (2005)
Book 2 - Icefire (2006)
Book 3 - Fire Star (2007)
Book 4 - The Fire Eternal (2008)

The Fire Within
When David moves in with Liz and Lucy, he discovers a collection of hand crafted, clay dragons that comes to life and has magical powers. David's personalized dragon, Gadzooks, can forecast the future, and inspires him to write a story which reveals the truth behind an unsolved mystery close to home. The story has an unhappy ending, and when David realizes the consequences of it he is angry. Then David finds Gadzooks crying and near death, and he discovers that these special dragons die when they are not loved. Soon David is forced to save his friend and unlock the powers of the fire within.

The weather here in VA has been pretty good. We had some unseasonably cold weather part of last week, but it's getting warmer. We don't have much of a "winter" in my part of VA. I live within a few miles of the Atlantic Ocean, so snow is only a dream for us. We actually had flurries 11/17/08. Yes, it was so unusual the date is stuck in my head!
It's around 35 degrees F. outside with the windchill it's 29 degrees F. Our daytime temps will be bouncing around from 30-54 degrees f. for the next 10 days. Our night time temps will bounce between 23-42 degrees f. Around here if someone complains about the weather we tell them to wait 5 minutes and it will change.

It's cold enough for me here, got down to 9 degrees last week. It's mostly in the 20's now.

What state are you -30's in? Alaska or North Minnesota?

I'm fine with it not being cold, I just wouldn't be able to last without the snow.

Congratulations. I'd love for it to be in the 60s right now. The warmth would cascade over my frozen body. Wait, then the snow would be gone, so somewhere around 30 would be good.
