Guest when you look at the cover posted is there anything wrong with it? Is it just my computer? When I look at it, it looks like part of Erec has been cut out, enlarged and then put back on the cover..... It's most apparent when you view the arms... [color=#400040]Kaza, I just knew it! The style was so different. I'm sorry for Tim because they didn't accept his cover art for Book3. At the same time I'm happy Melvyn will be able to do another cover. He did do the covers for the 1st two, so it would be nice for him to be able to say goodbye to your fans with one last cover. Continuity is important and the cover art is an important link in the chain! I know Melvyn will do a smashing job. I'm really looking forward to seeing the chapter art Tim has created. It will be totally different now! Tim Jacobus did do the version of the cover that is up on this site now. But it's being redone by Melvyn Grant, who did the last two covers. I'm holding my breath.... |

Wow, Kaza that's great. I'm really surprised about the 3rd Book cover now that I know Melvyn Grant did the cover art you have up on the site. It's such a radical departure from the style of the 1st two covers. I never would have guessed Grant had done the 3rd cover. I am not familiar with his work outside of Erec Rex, so perhaps that was naieve of me. The listing for pre-order only shows Tim Jacobus. I guess the cover artist doesn't get as much of a listing if they do not also create the interior illustrations. That's too bad, but I do get it. Chapter art adds up to more pieces in the end. I love the covers of Books 1 and 2. I can't wait to see the revamped version of the 3rd cover. What medium does Melvyn work in when he creates the cover art? I thought the detail on the honeycomb, etc. was brilliant, but it was a shock for me at first. It will be interesting to see how things look now! As an artist I feel like I've explained this badly, but I think you will understand what I am saying. DragonPurr |
