Okay, I just finished rereading TDE and MOO, and I'm getting a few last-minute theories in before I get my advance copy.
First of all, the Stain twins. I got to thinking on how they got that way. Maybe Dollick and Damon were Baskania's favored at first, but they both got him mad, so he turned Dollick into a sheep and Damon into a skeleton. They tried to turn them back, but when you change your appearance you can never get exactly back to the way you used to look. Now Balor is his last chance.
At the end of MOO, June is taking away Erec, a girl, and a baby. The secret to the Final Magic is hidden in the mind of the youngest child of the greatest seer of the first king of Alypium. In the end of TDE, it is revealed that the Cleary's have a baby son. The secret to the Final Magic is hidden in Trevor's mind. Also, since it's mentioned on page 51 (I think) of my edition of TDE that June has twins, Danny and Sammy are actually June's children, which got me thinking. Maybe June is Daphne who had a thing with Ugry. The girl she took might be Bethany, who was stolen away by Earl. Erec is a triplet; the other two twins (I'm taking someone else's theory here: Darla and Ward) were taken by Baskania's men and put in families where they would never be able to become royalty. Darla was fine because of her gift/curse of sickness, and they put Ward so that he would be with the Stain triplets then "mysteriously disappear." Neither of those were at the crowning ceremony, so this theory holds up in that regard.
I'm also even more hooked into the idea of Rosco being Oscar after rereading MOO. It's SO obvious when you know it's there.
If any of you want to argue with me on these, feel free. I've got plenty of things to back these.
