You are right that the more people who read the books the better, of course. They will be cheaper in April when they're re-released in paperback, too. ($8.99) Simon and Schuster asked me to write an "extra chapter" for the end of Book One. It's not part of the first book, more like a free-floating chapter.

I loved the Susan Cooper books, too. I didn't know that there was a movie of The Dark is Rising - that must have slipped by me. I guess that's why none of the clips looked familiar to me in Aoquesth's trailer?? (Which was cool for me -- it made it seem like it was made juts for Erec Rex!)

I'm sure Simon and Schuster are going to get your 1st two books out there front and center when they release them in April. I have faith in the ability of your publisher and fans to enlist new members into the Erec Rex fan base! I haven't looked to see if you have any signing, publicity tours planned in April or June, but I will soon. I know you have to get Book 4 finished first!

The cheaper price in April will be fabulous. I'm planning on buying the audio books. At that price I can buy the paperbacks as well.

Thank you for the heads up on the extra chapter S&S had you write for Book 1. Free floating chapters work for me! :-)

I met a fan of yours who was book shopping with her mom back in September and told her your books would be re-released in April. She was very excited! I told her about the sequels. Hopefully they'll get the word when your books are released. :-)

If you enjoyed Susan Coopers books you should watch "The Dark is Rising" (2007). It was released on DVD in 2008. BTW - Amazon.com has used copies available for as cheap as $1.24. The starring actors include Frances Conroy, Wendy Crewson, Christopher Eccleston, and Ian McShane. I think they did a pretty good job even though the adaptation is a bit modern. :-) The spirit of the book is still there. Here is a link to the official site. You can watch the trailer there.

2 - The Dark is Rising
3 - Greenwitch (1973)
4 - The Grey King

I think I just convinced my neighbor to go see "Inkheart." I know my husband will be more than happy to go with us as well. He loves most of the fantasty movies based on Children's/Youth/Young Adult books I introduce him to. We'll wait until the hype dies down and the theater isn't packed!

I enjoyed "Eragon" despite the deviations from the book. I thought it just didn't do well in theaters. I never did any research into why they never made [u]Eldest [/u]into a movie. I still need to read [u]Brisingr.... [/u] It looked to me like they spent a pretty penny making "Eragon" it's too bad they didn't make "Eldest." There is still hope...possibly???

I recently read [u]Twilight[/u] and I am in the hold que at my local library for [u]New Moon.[/u] I enjoyed Twilight. I'll see the movie "Twilight" once the hype settles down. Usually I wait for movies to come out on DVD.

I didn't forget "Twilight" :-) I was making a point my disappointment with books which only get one movie, etc. They are planning on doing the sequel for "Twilight." :-)

I probably own 600 books from a variety of genres. My husband owns 2000+ books related to history and the military. We both love to read and come from families where reading was a daily activity.

They did a great job making [u]The Dark is Rising[/u] into a movie. Have you read Susan Coopers books? They actually skipped her 1st book in the Dark is Rising Series for the movie. The 1st book is [u]Over Sea, Under Stone[/u].

I love it when my favorite books become movies, but it's such a let down when they only do one book. I realize the movies have to be financially viable to continue, but it's such a downer when there is just one movie...

Will they make movie sequels to any of these -
"Eragon"(2006), "The Dark is Rising"(2007) "Spiderwick Chronicles,"(2008) "Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events,"(2004) and I could go on and on... I'd love to hear one of those actually has a sequel I managed to miss out on. Please tell me if I did!!!!

The sequel to the "The Golden Compass"(2007) is "The Subtle Knife" and is in pre-production..., so there is hope for that one!

I've noticed Kaza's new publisher Simon and Schuster had "Spiderwick Chronicles" made into a movie, so there is hope Kaza!

April is just around the corner!

Just watched it, looks REALLY good, especially since you had to gather a bunch of different clips from a bunch of different places. It's going to be hard to compete against you in the contest.

This trailer is AMAZING!! I love the music and everything about it. You are so creative!! The whole thing is so cool. I don't know how you got the Erec Rex logo to flash at the end, but I love it!!

Erec Rex could go either way; they could either turn it into an extremely awesome movie winning a bunch of awards, or they could make it one of the worst movies ever. However, I can't really imagine an okay Erec Rex movie, it would either be really really good or really really bad. Hope they get it right!
